You’ve worked in your field for a while now. Your team member trusts you and always found you to be reliable and efficient. Or maybe you have a big ambition for what you can be, and you have been working on getting closer to that vision for the past few years. In addition to what you do, you are also a parent, partner, or child of a loved one. You have been switching between all your roles, and when it all goes well, you feel satisfied. But recently, something changed, and it adds a bit more to the already full plate you are juggling with. You might be worried about if you are doing a good enough job or what others think of you. Or it could be an important issue that gets on your nerves. With anxiety treatment in Portland, Oregon, we will support you through these life transitions.

You feel overwhelmed and trapped. You find yourself having a hard time focusing during the day and feeling tense in your body. Your mind races at night, and sometimes the anxiety feels too much to deal with, so you shut down. You feel alone, and angry and sometimes you wonder if there is something wrong with you. An anxiety therapist near Illinois will help you with those tense feelings.

With Mindfulness-based individual therapy, I will help you process and decrease the intense stress so that you can feel more like yourself again.

Spark Relational Counseling’s Approach to Anxiety Treatment

At Spark Relational Counseling, we take a holistic approach to your anxiety treatment. We will pay attention to your physical symptoms right at the beginning and teach you some simple techniques to help your body relax right away. We will explore helpful changes/coping skills you can implement in between sessions so that you can prevent anxiety from getting worse. After stabilizing the situation and you feeling good about the plan, we will begin our work in the therapy room.

In addition to teaching you practical skills in anxiety treatment. I will also help you learn to slow down and tune into the underlying needs behind your anxiety, to address the root cause. Often, anxiety or panic is our body’s attempt to tell us something important about ourselves. However, with the symptom being so painful, we tend to just shovel it in and run away from it, which in the long run, does not solve the problem.

In anxiety treatment, I will invite you to talk about your triggers, symptoms, and body sensations to how you experience them. In addition to being an empathic listener, we take a closer look at some of the events/things in your life that bring your anxiety, and we will explore your experience in it. This includes us paying attention to a potential belief of yours or, more importantly, navigating some of the old, painful past towards healing and change.

Together, we walk on the path to long-lasting anxiety relief by empowering you to foster a different relationship with anxiety that is more mindful, sustainable, and adaptive so that you can feel more at ease and less chaotic in your life.
